Welcome, I’m so glad you’re here.
I’m Madeline (she/her), I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Brooklyn, NY. I am currently available for EMDR referrals only. Additionally, I offer clinical consultation and supervision to mental health professionals.
About Me
My clinical background includes specialized work in trauma/PTSD and eating disorders. I was trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) through EMDRIA in 2023, and am currently working toward certification. I am also trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), a short-term treatment for PTSD. I integrate somatic and behavioral approaches into EMDR preparation and treatment.
I practice from a Health at Every Size (HAES)® framework and am committed to anti-racist, anti-oppressive care.

There isn’t a single checklist for EMDR-readiness, but many people find it helpful to consider the following signs:
The basic ability to stay grounded. You’re able to notice distress and use simple grounding tools to bring yourself back to the present.
The ability to tolerate difficult emotions without becoming overwhelmed. Strong feelings may come up, but you’re generally able to stay within a window of tolerance.
Some external stability. Your life has enough consistency (housing, relationships, routines) to support trauma processing work.
Curiosity about your inner experience. You’re open to noticing thoughts, emotions, body sensations, and memories when they arise, even when they feel uncomfortable.
Having support outside of therapy. This might include trusted people, meaningful routines or practices that help you feel resourced between session.
Readiness is not something clients are expected to determine on their own! A core part of EMDR involves assessing readiness and engaging in preparation before beginning reprocessing. If EMDR therapy is not appropriate right away, our therapy can focus on stabilization and preparation until reprocessing feelings safe ans supportive.
